Vintage years

For over twenty-five years, the Les Sources group has carved out a unique history and is now boldly shaping its future.

Every winemaker dreams of creating exceptional wines. This dream always begins with bountiful harvests yielding perfectly balanced and mature grapes. Such years are rare and leave an indelible mark on the memory. For Alice and Jérôme Tourbier, two dates stand out as unforgettable. The first marks the founding of Les Sources de Caudalie in Martillac in 1999. Nestled among the vineyards, the couple established an estate that, despite its recent origins, seems as if it has been aged by time. Initially, the estate featured 30 rooms, including a stilted cabin, offering hospitality through two restaurants and a unique Vinothérapie® Spa, drawing its water from 540 meters underground. Over the years, the estate expanded, adding new rooms, suites, and a wine bar. La Grand'Vigne restaurant earned its first Michelin star in 2010, followed by a second in 2015. A year later, Les Sources de Caudalie was honoured as the first French Palace located in the countryside.

Alice and Jérôme Tourbier's initial ambitions have not only been met but exceeded, giving rise to a new vintage: Les Sources de Cheverny, launched in 2020. Set in the Loire Valley, another renowned French wine region, they embraced the past while innovating, by refurbishing an 18th-century manor house and complementing it with a few contemporary chalets. This created a “hamlet” of 49 exceptional rooms and suites, an inn with a wine bar, and a Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant, Le Favori.

But why stop there? Leveraging their experience and maturity, the couple is now poised to unveil two new venues soon. In Burgundy, they are renovating a historical gem from the 14th and 17th centuries in Gilly, Côte-d'Or. This classified site, a former abbey, is set to open by early 2025 with 49 rooms and suites, a spectacular spa, and two restaurants. Meanwhile, along the Alsace wine route, Les Sources will add a new dimension with the Château d'Isenbourg near Colmar. Slated for launch in spring 2026, this project will feature around fifty rooms and suites, along with various hydrotherapy spaces including a remarkable 25-meters swimming corridor nestled within an arched wine cellar! Alice and Jérôme Tourbier’s exceptional vintages are presented with grandeur, perpetuating a unique lifestyle that embraces nature and the vineyards, while maintaining their distinctive identities. Truly, they are creating vintages of their own.
