A decor between land and sea

At Les Sources de Caudalie, Le Village des Pêcheurs and the apartment “Au Coeur des Sources” are being treated to a facelift.

Inspired by the authentic soul of the Bordeaux region, the rooms and suites at the Palace des Vignes are shared out in six residences offering unimpeded views, sometimes of the lake, sometimes of the vines, and propose refined decor celebrating the fine art of living “à la française”.

Le village des pêcheurs

Inspired by oyster farm villages on Cap Ferret, Le Village des Pêcheurs consists of twelve suites renovated by interior architect Giovanna de Bosredon. Imagined as elegant cabins on stilts by architect Yves Collet, they form a little hamlet overlooking the lake on the estate. Assisted by Alice Tourbier, Giovanna de Bosredon has opted for authentic, unfussy esthetics in which white wood complements the simplicity of cane and the nobility of natural materials. Seafront elegance appears in each detail, enhanced by vintage furniture unearthed by the pair. “We found a magnificent, solid wood table with organic curves, an elegant wicker armchair in colonial style, and sublime chairs made of bamboo and rattan, signed Franco Albini,” says Giovanna de Bosredon. The suites come in contrasting colours: shades of blue echo the waters in the bay, while nuances of green recall the pinewoods. Sunny tones further enhance the palette, evoking the splendour of twilight. Each suite hosts a selection of special artworks carefully chosen by Amélie, Maison d’Art. “As soon as you step inside, the outside world fades away leaving room for a soothing feeling of reconnection with nature,” adds Giovanna de Bosredon.

Au cœur des Sources

On the upper floor of La Bastide des Grands Crus, the apartment “Au Coeur des Sources” overlooks Les Sources de Caudalie. “My husband and I have been lucky enough to live in it. With windows on both sides, it offers exceptional natural light at all times of day,” says Alice Tourbier. Renovated throughout, this apartment of 100 sq.m accommodates up to six guests and now offers two bedrooms with bathrooms, a boudoir and a vestibule which can serve as extra bedrooms, and a vast sitting-room with a dining-room and tisanerie. Offering refined elegance, the decor reveals a Florentine influence, a subtle reference to the interior decorator’s Italian roots. Noble materials – marble and solid wood –, soft textiles – drapes and wool rugs – and furniture from antique fairs compose a plush, enveloping atmosphere in which character harmonizes with delicacy. “The choice of the colours also contributes towards this stylishness, drawing inspiration from the vine. Notes of rose, plum, chestnut and green adorn the rooms, in contrast to lighter shades in the sitting-room.” With private access from the gardens, families will appreciate the privacy offered by the apartment. A real “home away from home” surrounded by the prestigious Bordelais vineyards.
